About Me

Hi, my name is Ali Sills, and it took me 10 years to earn my bachelor’s degree in leadership from Regent University online. Balancing a family, work, and school made it a little more difficult to earn my degree within 4 years. Asking for help, online presentations, online group work, procrastination, time management, meeting deadlines, studying, and writing essays are a few challenges I faced while going to school. My goal is to use this platform to provide you with the resources, strategies, and tips to overcome some of the barriers that I faced.

As a black male, the oldest of 2 brothers, and raised by a single mom, I did not finish high school with the highest GPA. I graduated with a 1.9 GPA, the last I checked, with no intention of going to college until the latter part of my senior year in high school. It was not until I went to college in the spring of 2013 that I recognized that it was the best decision I made. I intend on inspiring more minorities to give college a try before they decide it is not for them.

You will soon realize, if you have not already noticed, that going to college has less to do with how smart you are and more to do with how well you play the game. My goal is to help you adopt and recognize the blueprint for attending college online. There is a specific algorithm you can and should follow to help you succeed in each and every class. This blog is a place for you if you find discussion boards, essays, and presentations daunting. Mentorship is available here for those of you who need one-on-one support to implement the strategies outlined.

I currently attend Liberty University Online for my Masters in School Counseling. My expected graduation date is May, 2025. I plan to use the skills I learned during this journey to not only assist you with your academic success, but also to help with mentorship when it is needed. I plan on starting my licensed professional counseling residency soon after and help as many people as possible with their academic and mental challenges.
